The Joys of Easter

We had a nice Easter including a couple of egg hunts and time with family and friends.

I took Sabrinna to an Easter Egg Hunt that our ward was doing. (It was inside due to some bad weather.) She had lots of fun picking up the eggs and later going though the eggs to get the candy.

On Easter Sunday we went to the Wentz house and Aunt Kellie and Sabrinna had a egg hunt together. Sabrinna helped hide the eggs and this is where she put them. One Stop Hunting!

We also went to my brothers for a while and decorated eggs. It is my families tradition to have a race with the eggs. We will take the eggs make a track and roll them down a hill. The eggs get pretty beat up and most often destroyed. Well this year there was no real good hill for a race so we went for the next best thing........the baseball bat. It was pretty fun to see how far we could hit the eggs or see if we could get them to crumble over us. Its a weird tradition but we have fun with it! (Don't worry some eggs are reserved for sandwiches...for those that like them.)

Grandma Michelle got Sabrinna her beautiful Easter dress. Sabrinna loves it for a couple of reasons. One its PINK!!! (A very favorite color) and two she thinks its a princess dress. It has become a dress-up as well as a church dress.

Tanner was so cute! The sweater he has on was made from a family in Argentina. Steve served his mission there and still writes this family. The mother made the sweater for Tanner when she found out we were having baby boy.

Grandma with the grandkids!

My good friend Raelene was in town and spent the weekend with us. Sabrinna was taken with her and would follow her all around the house. Sabrinna became Raelenes shadow!

This ones for you Daddy!

This is Sabrinna playing with your tools. She was running from the kitchen to the front room holding random items. The best is the safe glasses!

Tanner looks so cute! I really like this shirt on him.

He loves to play in his saucer toy! He has gotten really good at grabbing the toys and pushing the buttons.

We can never have enough belly time!

Sabrinna is talking to you on the phone in this picture. This is when the vacuum broke and we had it out to try and fix it. If we can't use it to clean why not use it to sit on. The next best thing!

These are some pictures I have taken over the last couple of weeks. Steve is in San Antonio right now for some training and I wanted him to see the kids in their day to day activities. We love you DADDY!

The Ultimate OH MAN!

A week ago Sabrinna went downstairs to finish her breakfast after playing. I put in my exercise video and figured Sabrinna was okay. Her breakfast was on the table and I could her moving about. After 20 minutes I went down to check on her and this is what I found...

There is a total of 25 pounds of flour and sugar all over the kitchen floor and spread over the carpet in the hallway. Lucky, since I had been exercising endorphins had been released and all I could do was smile and laugh! Its mine own fault for leaving her alone for so long. Needless to say the pantry door has now been child locked. Another joy of motherhood!

Food Storage

Over the last few months I have had a strong desire and impression to work on putting together a better food storage for our family. This last month the Ensign had a lot of talks on Self-Reliance and food storage. Once again reiterating the importance of being prepared. With the economy falling into a bigger recession and more and more people being laid off it causes a lot of concern for me. Even though I have had the desire to be more prepared the motivation to act has not been present.

I decided to make a better go at it. In doing some research on how to get started and how to properly store your wheat, rice, and pasta, I found this web cite. It has a lot of great information and has been very helpful already. I wanted to share my find with you all. What I like about this cite is that they send you an email every two weeks with baby steps of things to do. It takes a year to get your storage put together but it makes it not such an overwhelming process. Which is where I was getting stuck. Where do I start? Obviously some of the things we have already put in place or have in our storage but its nice to be given guidelines and a reminder to keep working at it. ENJOY and good luck!

Oh MAN!!

As Sabrinna has gotten older the crazy and funny experiences are happening on an almost daily bases. I have labeled these moments as "Oh Man" moments. These could be anything from sitting on the toothpaste tube when the lid is off and squeezing half the tube all over the floor, or getting up on the counter to get a bowl and the Honeycombs out and then pouring a bowl all by herself, too cutting her own hair. (Yes, all of these have happened in the last week or so.)

I think a big red flag is when it gets quiet. That means trouble so approach with CAUTION. I am sure most mothers with 2 year old's would agree and are having their own crazy times.

I think tonight's 'oh man' moment topped it all. We have been working on potty training. RED FLAG I know! The basic story is that she pooped in her panties. As I was trying to get her undressed she flipped the poop out of her panties and then stepped in it. I got her cleaned up and sent her to her room to stay away from the mess. Since she had stumbled and got poop all over I had a nice mess to clean up. I ran down stairs to get everything to get the mess cleaned up. When I got back she had walked in it again and now it really was everywhere! I did get it all cleaned up and out of the carpet. I am so grateful for Spot Shot!!! The whole time Sabrinna was talking about her belly button and how she wanted to got swimming. Kids are so innocent and fun!!!

Cute Moments!

Tanner loves his swing!! He has just lately started putting his arms over the edge of the swing like this. It is so cute because we have found him like this a couple of times asleep. He's just chillin'.

One of Sabrinna's favorite activities lately is watching movies. Her attention span does not last very long, to be expected. So she will come and go from a movie a couple of times. Anyways, I had just bought some diapers and the box was sitting in her room. I had put Tanner down on his bouncy chair to go get something. When I came back this is what I found. :)

Sabrinna does not like me doing her hair. If I do get her to let me put pig tales in it doesn't last very long. To my surprise she let me do her hair the other day. I wanted to get a picture of it because I knew she would pull it out within the hour, which came true. When she lets me do her hair she looks like a girl and not a little girl with a mullet. Maybe one day she will like her hair all done up. Here's to wishing!!

Major Update!

The last couple of weeks have been very busy. Due to a lot of traveling and at times a hectic schedule I have not had time to post as things have happened. We have had a lot of bitter sweet moments all of which I am very grateful for. So please excuse the mass posting!

Reunion in California

On Sunday the 22 of February my Grandpa passed away. So instead of flying home with Steve from Colorado I flew to California. I met up with my family to attend my grandpas funeral. It was a wonderful service and I had a great time with my family. We were able to be with grandma and make some great memories. It was a happy time. My grandpa had been suffering for some time. The day after the funeral we did some cite seeing and tried to enjoy the time together as a family. My Grandma said that funerals for Mormons are just big family reunions. Its so true!
I returned home on Sunday the 1st of March. Shortly after I got home I got a phone call from my Dad telling me that Grandma had passed away. It came as a big shock!!! My sisters and I decided it is a true "notebook" love story. They had been married for 60 plus years. I am grateful that they were not apart from one another for very long and have been reunited.

We went to a Gold Museum and this arbor was just to pretty to not take a picture off.

Colorado Springs

This past week Steve and I went to Colorado Springs to try and find some housing. (We are moving in May to The Springs.) We looked at over 20 properties. It has been very hard to find something that we like. To find an area, price, and the different amenities that we would like or need. It was a lot of fun to look at the houses and get a feel for the city. We haven't settled on one place yet but hopefully we will find something. If nothing else it was nice to get away with Steve for a couple of days.

Johnson Clan

Our friends from Idaho came to visit. We had a nice time with them going to Cabela's, letting the kids play, and catching up.

This is AJ, Sabrinna, and Lexi playing on Sabrinna's 4-wheeler. The adults were upstairs talking when we heard the kids who were downstairs playing start laughing. We went to go see what was going on and this is what we found.

This is Lexi and Sabrinna. There were born 15 days apart. As we were walking around Cabela's someone asked if there were twins.

Tanners Blessing

We held Tanners blessing at our home with close family and friends. We had a very nice time being with the family and celebrating Tanner.

This pictures is of Tanner in his blessing outfit. Steve was blessed in this outfit. Its a little small since we waited so long to bless Tanner, but we still got him in it. My Grandma made the blanket for us that he is laying on.

This is a four generation picture. My Grandma, Dad, Tanner, Sabrinna, who is sound asleep, and myself.
