Help in the Kitchen

Sabrinna and I were in the mood to make some scones the other day. I wanted some help in the kitchen so I enlisted Sabrinnas help. She is so cute! Flour got everywhere and on everything but she had fun helping. I think I have a regular assistant now.

Opps!

Sabrinna has discovered a talent that she excels at. A talent she shares with all other children. Making a mess. No job is to big. She can take anything and make mayhem out of it in seconds. Her favorites include toilet paper, the kitchen pots, the couch pillows, and now the baby wipes.

Dinners up!

I was letting Sabrinna play with the pots and pans the other morning while I did some dishes. I heard them clanking around and then nothing. I thought she might have wandered off but when I turned around I found her like this. She is so cute!

Texas State Aquarium

Last weekend we went to Corpus Christi with some friends. Corpus Christi is right on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. While we were there we went to the Texas State Aquarium. We went to a dolphin show, reptile show, were able to touch sting rays, don't worry they couldn't sting us. They also had really neat jelly fish and sea horse displays. We all had a wonderful time and would like to visit again to see some other attractions. Of course Sabrinna got so excited to see all the animals. She was pointing and talking in her cute gibberish. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short because of a tropical storm.

Wilshire Wood Activities

The apartment complex that we moved into has come with some fun activities. They have swimming pools and a play ground that Sabrinna loves. She gets so excited when we walk up to the playground and would play for hours.

The River Walk

Another fun part of the city is The River Walk. Back in the day with out water there was no life. So the people diverted the San Antonio river to have the water come closer to them. It is now a tourist attraction with boat tours and lots of restaurants.
For those of you that remember Miss Congeniality the stage I am standing in front of is in that movie. Its the swimming suit contest part and Sandra Bullock is laughing because shes thinking about the Dahli Llama.

Remember the Alamo

Deep in the heart of the city you find the site of what was one of the most defining points in Texas history. We were able to visit "The Alamo" this weekend. It was a neat experience to walk on the ground were such a devastating event took place. We walked around the beautiful courtyard, the "Shrine" or "Church", which is the face of the Alamo. We had a nice time walking around even if we were sweating like crazy due to the 99% humidity!

The Wilshire Suite

Welcome to Texas home of the Alamo! Where everything is bigger! including the insects. Steve and I were able to find a furnished apartment here in San Antonio. We are about 5 minutes from Fort Sam Houston. This will be nice for Steve when he starts classes and has to get up at o'dark thirty for PT. Any ways here are some picture of our cute apartment. It came with towels, pots, pans, pillows, and sheets. All we needed were our clothes and to go buy some food. The apartment complex has 3 swimming pools, a kids center, and fitness center. Its also gated for that extra protection against wandering animals ;)

UP UP and AWAY

Steve loves planes and now helicopters. He got himself a fun toy... a remote control helicopter. He says that this one is pretty easy to fly and he was flying it whenever he got the chance.

Hogle ZOO

Sabrinna loves animals! So our trip to the ZOO was a thrill for her. They have made a lot of great improvements to the park since the last time we were there. We saw an albino alligator...well actually it just has a genetic mutation and does not have any pigment in her skin. We also saw the elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, and bears. The trip home was a little stressful. We hit really bad traffic, and then the car broke down. But to top it all off Sabrinna had a poppy diaper. Even with the bad adventure on the way home the trip was wonderful and we had a great time.

Johnson Clan

Our good friends from Cedar City moved to Idaho a little while before we moved. We had the privilege to get together to have dinner and dutch oven cobbler. We liked to make dutch oven dinners together; we made dinner together almost weekly. It was a fun reunion and as if we never parted. They are good friends and we hope to always remain close.

Sanchez

One of Steve's missionary companions from Santiago Chile moved to Salt Lake last month. While Steve was in town we were able to go up and say hi. Steve had a great time talking to him and reminiscing about his mission. The girl in the picture is Juan Sanchez's girlfriend. We were able to go to dinner at a Chilean restaurant. The food was pretty good.
