Sampler

This is a sample of a few things that we did through out July.


Tanner loves the water. I was in the shower one day and he climbed in with me cloths and all. He just sat at my feet not bothered at all by the water beating down on his face. Tanner would stay in the bath all day long if I let him.


This is a picture of my tomato plant. I planted four plants, very late in the season. I am hoping of canning them. Now at the end of September my tomatoes are just starting to turn red. I got quiet a few so hopefully it doesn't freeze before they ripen.

I put Tanner in his high chair for breakfast and I got busy doing dishes. When I came back this is what I found. AHWWW!

Sisterly Love!

My sisters came to visit in July for a week. It was so much fun to have them here. My sisters are my best friends, so to spend time with them after we moved was wonderful. While they were here we went to tour The Air Force Academy and Garden of the Gods.

The Academy was an amazing tour. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to spend their college career like that... working so hard and being treated so poorly, at least the first year. I guess the cadets are better people that me. The chapel was neat to walk through and to see the view of Colorado Springs.



At Garden of the Gods we walked around and played in the rocks. Sabrinna was climbing all over the rocks and deep into the crevices. I was surprised that she was not scared of it. We really enjoyed the hike and being out in some of God's creations.

Super Slacker!

Life has been so busy lately! It seems like when ever I get a free minute to blog I am just not in the mood. I apologize for those of you that are following our family blog. I hope to get to it sometime soon. We have been busy putting in a yard, celebrating Sabrinna's 3rd birthday, and then taking care of day to day tasks. I will hopefully get to it soon!!!

Ralene!!!

One of my best friends and college roommates came to visit us from AZ over the forth of July. We had a lot of fun and kept busy going from activity to activity.


For Father's Day I got Steve a flag to hang on our house. So we had a little flag ceremony. (It was a matter of putting the flag up on the 4th.)


We went to see the movie Up.


At Fort Carson they were having a celebration with lots of activities for people. One of the activities was paintball. I had never played before and Steve convinced me to play. It was a lot of fun and our team won!


We took Raelene and Steve to the North Pole. They had a great time and got themselves sick on the Teacup ride. I was talking to some of the employees and they said Steve and Rae had a record for spinning the fastest and longest. Raelene and Sabrinna had lots of fun together feed the deer. :)


We also went to a baseball game. It was nice because we got in for free!!! Sabrinna got bored fast so we didn't stay for long but it was still fun to go.

We were so glad Rae could come visit and celebrate with us. We did see some fireworks. Which is always a highlight. Happy 4th of July!

A little backwards

The day before we moved we went one last time to the temple. Sabrinna liked being there and didn't want to leave.


Life has been pretty busy since we moved. Whether it was moving in or having fun with family that has visited. I have wanted to post for a long time but my time has been stretched.
We have been doing lots of things from going for bike rides to house projects or learning our way around the city. The next few posts are posted backwards. So the most recent post happened when we first moved down to just this last weekend. So the posts are chronologically backwards. I had the time so I posted everything at once.

Anyways this is what we have been doing the last month or so.

A day at the park

They have tons of parks around the city. One day we drove around to a few of the parks and tried them out. My favorite is the Fountain Regional Park. They have a great toy to play on and a really fun trail to walk on that follows the river. They have a couple of ponds you can fish at (but don't eat it). Steve and Sabrinna spent almost 20 minutes feeding the duck and squirrels.

Air show

We found out that the Air Force Academy was having an air show for their graduation. It was open to the public so we went on post and watched the show. It was so COOL! The jets were flying right over us and doing all these cool maneuvers. It was such a neat opportunity. The pictures didn't turn out the best. It was hard to time it just right.

The North Pole

When we moved my mother-in-law, Michelle came with us to help with the kids and build some shelves in the garage. While she was visiting we went to The North Pole. It is a little amusement park designed for little kids. The park is located at the base of Pikes Peak, so you are surrounded by pine trees and have a beautiful view. Sabrinna and Tanner sat on Santa's lap, in years past Sabrinna was scared of Santa. Sabrinna rode all sorts of rides, and made a candle. She LOVED it. She rode rides like the tilt-a-whirl and flying aces. We thought she would get scared on some of the rides but she loved it. They had lots of little rides that she rode by herself and asked to ride over and over and over. It was fun for Michelle and I watch her and take her around the park. Tanner was such a sport and did very well. Steve had to work and couldn't make it so we hope to go back when he can go. You really can have Christmas in July... at least commercialized Christmas.


This is the North Pole. I bumped it and got all wet. They have frozen the pole!!

A little of this and a Little of that

As promised here is a picture of our new party pad. We have been very blessed to find such a nice place. I feel very spoiled to be in a home to call ours. We are close to Steve's work and have really enjoyed making Fountain our home.


I just thought that this was a cute picture of Tanner.


Sabrinna loves to push things around. She was pushing her stroller around one day and asked that we put Tanner in it. They both had lots of fun, Sabrinna pushing and Tanner riding. Sabrinna had the tendency to push Tanner in to corner and then leave him there. :) We had to rescue him a few times.

Zing Zang Zoom

One day as Steve was driving and listening to the radio they were having a contests to win free tickets to Barnum and Baileys Circus. On a whim Steve decided to call. And he won 4 free tickets!!! It was so much fun!!! The magic words to the show were Zing Zang Zoom. The show was full of excitement, magic tricks, and impressive circus acts. We had a wonderful time and what made it even better was it was free. I was a nice close to my parents visit.

Cave of the Winds

While my parents were here we went to Cave of the Winds. It was really neat to go through the cave and see all the caverns and formations. The kids seemed to enjoy it as well. We had to wait for our tour and so I let Tanner play in the sand. He had lots of fun and to my surprise never tried to eat it.

Bed Rock!

One of the big projects at our house is putting in a yard. Its a very popular landscaping design here in Fountain to put in rocks instead of grass. Water is very expensive and they have had a terrible drought the last few years, although the last few weeks would seem contrary to that. (We have had rain almost everyday since we moved 3 weeks ago.) We started out with cardboard, also know as dead grass. We had to rake up the grass, even out the dirt, lay weed barrier and then spread 8 tons of rock. We are very pleased with the results. My parents came out to help us and the missionaries were driving by and saw us spreading the rock and helped as well. It made out big project not as over whelming. We now have a bed of rock instead of a bed of weeds.


We are in the process of removing the weeds and dead grass.

The finished project! We hope to add some trees down the road but for now its just a major face lift for our house.
